Support for Refugees in Idomeni

When a 14 year old girl tells you "Nobody wants us because we're Arab" it breaks your heart. Over 10,000 Middle Eastern refugees, the majority Syrian, have found themselves trapped at the northern border of Greece -- unable to enter the rest of Europe, having nowhere else to go in Greece, and feeling lost in numbers and hopeless that they will get asylum or relocation anytime soon. Conditions are bad, with poor distribution in the way of clothes, shoes and other essentials, and long lines for showers and medical assistance. Most people sleep in tents on the hard dirt ground. Kids are wearing snow boots in 80 degree weather and women are walking around with babies under their arms and kids by their sides, sometimes up to 8 or 9 children per family.

I am a solo American traveler who has found herself in the north of Greece and gotten involved in volunteering. Please donate to my  gofundme campaign. My goal is to raise money that I can use on the ground to support certain families and individuals in a personal way. Because distribution is so bad (non-profits and volunteers have had difficulty solving this problem for a variety of reasons) many volunteers have taken to working closely with individual refugees to get them what they need. I have already made connections with refugees who need shoes, baby clothes, etc. Please help me make a difference in a few peoples' lives.
