Kewpie fip expenses and financing
Donation protected
All donations go straight towards Kewpies meds. Ty everyone we love you
hello as most of you know I’m Andrea our kitty Kewpie was diagnosed fip positive in the beginning of June 2022.
we started out fine with some savings and we were lucky enough to be able to finance a lot of her vet bills and paying for her medication out of pocket through our savings and it was all smooth sailing until now. We had our car break down on us as well and had to finance that too. We’ve run our funds into the ground and we need a little help to get a us through. Kewpies treatment was originally 84 days but has been extended out twice now hopefully at the end of October we’ll be done but it’s uncertain. We have so many bills from the financing and her pills we buy every 10 days. We are struggling living paycheck to paycheck now. We just need a little leg up.
when we took kewpie to the vet the end of may they we’re uncertain of what was going on and ran routine tests. Our vet recommended us out to a neurologist to further investigate as she was having neurological symptoms. They basically had to do every expensive test under the sun to figure out what was going on with her because of course by process of elimination she had a rare type of fip. Which is 100% deadly but with our research we found a way for a cure. We would not give up on her. we got her back from the vet and she was declining fast after that. Slipping through our fingers. We quickly got ahold of people and got her medication.
if not for that she wouldn’t have made it another day. I had to take off work for over a month to stay with her 24/7 because kewpie got to a point after declining where she couldn’t walk or barely get her head up. I helped her to the bathroom, syringe fed her food and water did my own physical therapy. Supportive care is very important during this time. If I even left the bedroom she was scared and looking for me. The first few days was so scary we didn’t know if she’d make it but after a week Everyday We’d notice a tiny bit of progress. Now she is here walking (still a little funny) playing. Eating and drinking on her own and using her litter box again.
the money will go towards Kewpies medicine
And vet bills if any is left over . If we don’t reach the goal it’s fine because literally anything helps us right now. We are usually ones to donate to everyone’s go fund me and help wherever we can but haven’t been able to since July. So sorry if we’ve missed out on helping you if you needed it. Once we are on our feet again we are going to pay it forwards like before. We just appreciate everyone who loves Kewpie and follows her story and checks on her. We love you
