KevMania - Living with ALS
Donation protected
Kevin Adams is our dear friend who was diagnosed with ALS approximately three months ago. When someone you love is diagnosed with ALS, there is nothing you can do to change the outcome. ALS is always fatal. His body has begun wasting away in his legs and will continue to his trunk, arms and eventually, lungs. There are devices that will help with longevity, but he will lose his ability to move, speak and swallow.
With this Go Fund Me Account, we have the opportunity to help with the many expenses that they have already faced and will continue to incur as the disease progresses.
Currently, their biggest need is to remodel their bathroom to make it accessible. They have been pursuing all avenues of assistance, such as insurance and government funding. With a typical life expectancy of 2–5 years, and doctors advising that he has had it at least a year, none of these funds seem to be forthcoming in time to help. He needs to be able to get into his bathroom without walking as this is getting more and more difficult. It is estimated that this renovation, including roll in shower and related medical equipment will cost at least $30,000.
We, as Kevin’s friends, want to assist with this growing financial burden. Kevin and Darlene have always sought to bless others; now is the time we can bless them in return. Let’s pool our resources – no amount is too small and no amount is too big - this is an expression of our love for them. Thank you so much for your prayers and support!
“So we’re not giving up. How could we! Even though on the outside it often looks like things are falling apart on us, on the inside, where God is making new life, not a day goes by without his unfolding grace. These hard times are small potatoes compared to the coming good times, the lavish celebration prepared for us. There’s far more here than meets the eye. The things we see now are here today, gone tomorrow. But the things we can’t see now will last forever.”
