As I look to graduate from Millersville University in May 2021, I want to explore and escape from the daily grind of college. After accomplishing so much in school, this hike is my chance to accomplish a feat that doesn't include writing papers or reading textbooks. I am also taking what I have learned in my three years as a Media Arts Production major and implementing that into my hiking experience. My goal is to document my trip and create a documentary that tells the story of my trip. This documentary will raise awareness of the PCT, and hopefully inspire others to take time away from work or school to go out and explore.

My other motivation for hiking the PCT is to raise money for pediatric cancer research. Four years ago I lost a best friend to melanoma when he was just 16 years old. Ever since, I have been motivated to take him along on all my journeys because he was never able to experience them while still on Earth. My goal is to raise $1 for every mile I hike on the PCT, which is 2,650 miles long. While I push my body to unknown stresses and physical tolls, it will be nothing compared to what children with cancer, and their families, have to deal with. Raising the $2,650 will help another family keep their child alive so that they can too go on and experience all that the world has to offer.
