Hello everyone,
My name is Glydel Geolamin, and I’m reaching out with a heavy heart to ask for your support. Kevin Leigh Serra, was recently diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) on Friday, September 5, 2025. He has already started his chemotherapy treatment as of September 9.
This diagnosis has turned our world upside down. Kevin is only 35 years old and currently a nursing student at Deakin University here in Australia. He came to think country with big dreams to study, to help others through healthcare, and to build a better future. Anyone who knows him can tell you he is one of the kindest, most compassionate people you could ever meet.
Why We Need Help
As an international student, Kevin has private health insurance, but unfortunately, not all medical costs are covered especially when it comes to specialist treatments, hospital stays, medications, and other out-of-pocket expenses.
On top of that, because of his diagnosis and treatment, he is currently unable to work or continue his studies. The financial burden is growing every day, and it’s more than we can handle alone.
How You Can Help
We are humbly asking for your support during this incredibly difficult time. Your donation no matter how big or small will go toward:
Chemotherapy and hospital costs not covered by insurance
Medications and follow-up treatments
Travel and living expenses during treatment
Emergency costs and unexpected medical needs
Every Dollar Counts
We know times are tough for many, but if you’re able to donate even just a few dollars it would mean the world to us. If you can’t donate, please consider sharing this page with your friends, family, or social networks. Every bit of awareness helps.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your kindness, prayers, and support.
