Support Kevin’s Journey to Recovery
Hi everyone,
We wanted to take a moment to update you on Kevin’s health and ask for your support during this incredibly difficult time. The past few days have been overwhelming as we’ve processed the news and prepared for what’s ahead.
Kevin has been diagnosed with four severe heart blockages, including one that is 100% blocked and three others ranging from 80%-90% blocked. In addition, he has a moderate to severe leaking heart valve, a small aneurysm on the valve, and his heart is only pumping at 20%-25% capacity. To address these issues, he will need open-heart surgery to repair the damage, replace the valve, and restore proper heart function.
Before surgery, Kevin must be cleared by an oral surgeon to ensure there are no dental concerns that could lead to post-surgical complications. If any dental work is needed, it will delay the surgery by at least two weeks. Right now, we are waiting on those results, and if he is cleared, surgery could happen as soon as early next week.
Following surgery, Kevin will be in ICU for at least four days and remain in the hospital for six to eight days. His recovery will take time—he will be on very limited activity for a month and out of work for at least three months, requiring rehab to regain his strength. While we hope his heart function will improve after surgery, there is a chance he may still need a pacemaker in the future. Additionally, the valve replacement will only last 10-15 years, meaning he will eventually require another surgery.
With all of this ahead, we are facing a long and challenging road—physically, emotionally, and financially. Kevin’s medical bills, ongoing care, and time off work will create a significant financial burden. We are asking for your help to ease the stress on Kevin and our family so we can focus on his recovery.
If you can donate, any amount would mean the world to us. If you are unable to give, please consider sharing this and keeping Kevin in your thoughts and prayers. We appreciate every bit of support—whether it’s a kind message, a visit, or simply spreading the word.
Kevin is currently at Parkwest Hospital and is allowed visitors, but we ask that you reach out before visiting. He has his phone with him and appreciates all the love and encouragement.
Thank you all for your kindness and support during this difficult time. We will keep everyone updated as we learn more.
With gratitude,
