Kevin’s Aneurysm Road to Recovery

Donation protected

Hi. This is Kevin’s wife Amanda and I am making this go fund me to help keep things above water and a little less stressful with the unknown of how long Kevins recovery may be. For those who haven’t actually heard yet, Kevin has a brain bleed from an aneurysm, which also caused a stroke after his first procedure and although we may never know why/how this happened, unfortunately it did. Just like a lot of others, this year has been rough. Kevin is my glue, he keeps things together and is always my voice of reason and positivity. Everything we have had to overcome this year, he was the person who told me everything would be ok and work out. Now it’s my turn to be his strength. Kevin personally has come so far in the over 5 years we have been together. mentally and physically. He has done several things to better himself. It felt like things were finally on an upswing after losing our jobs to Covid and getting into a car accident to give a couple examples. It’s been one battle after another lately and Kev has done nothing but fight and have my back and has done everything he can to make sure everyone in his life is ok, feels safe and taken care of. I fell in love with him because he is the kind of person who would do anything for anyone, he truly has the kindest heart( even for those who don’t always see that side of him in the ways I have). He is also one of the most stubborn people I know and I am so grateful I got him to the hospital before this anuersym burst, and I thank God everyday that he is alive. His stubbornness also wouldn’t even want me to ask for help and it’s really something I hate and feel uncomfortable doing. However, as the days pass with only tiny improvements, the reality that this is going to be a long, and stressful road to recovery is sinking in.

Many of you have asked what you could do to help and I always ask to keep praying of course, but what I am also needing help with is to keep our family above water, keep the bills paid, keep our car that we worked so hard and waited so long to get, gas so I can go back and forth to the hospital, take him to doctor appointments once he is out of the hospital, any medical expenses, treatments, therapies, etc. he is needing that isn’t covered, and to just help keep things going so he doesn’t have to worry about anything or me as he is recovering and can focus on getting back to being the Kevin we all know and love. He has been at Hurley for a week now, is working with many medical teams including a speech therapist and occupational therapist. His neurosurgeon is optimistic that he is going to recover, but all I keep hearing is that it’s a long slow road and that I need to be patient.

So with all of that said, anyone that can help in any way would be so beyond appreciated. Whether it’s donating money on here, gas cards to get back and forth from the hospital, contacting me to pay a bill if you feel uncomfortable sending cash, sharing this go fund me account, resources/knowledges for those who know about TBI recovery etc and honestly if you can’t do more than just pray and keep us in your thoughts during this hard time that’s just as appreciated, helpful and means just as much. The emotional and spiritual support I have received from everyone so far fills my heart with joy and I truly am doing everything I can to keep things going and on track while Kevin recovers. I am willing to work as much and as many hours as needed and available but as some of my family and friends have pointed out to me, it’s going to be hard to do things on my own, especially with him recovering from a traumatic brain injury. Thank you for your time and consideration.
