Kevin Newman Bey Jr

During the pregnancy of Kevin Newman Bey Jr, the mother and I were residing at my mother’s apartment in Schaumburg, IL starting April 2010. I was always helpful with anything she needed. I was with her during labor and delivery in February 2011. After Kevin was born I asked her for a paternity test for the 2nd time, she got angry and came home with Kevin Jr. to my mom’s house. A few weeks later her mother came to pick her up and move to Southern Illinois. Since then, she deliberately has kept Kevin Jr. from me.
When he was about 3 months old, she came back to Schaumburg to visit for 3 days and I asked for a paternity test a 3rd time and she was very upset and the test did not happen. She told me she wanted to go visit family in Puerto Rico for 2 weeks, I agreed that was reasonable. She ended up moving to Puerto Rico to stay without my knowledge. I sent money orders totaling about $1200 while she was there to provide for Kevin. I flew to Puerto Rico to see him for his 1st birthday and stayed 3 days with her and her Aunt. It was a joy and a blessing to see and spend time with him.
I had recently got an apartment and asked her to live with me so I could help her get on her feet and I could help support my son. She asked me if we were going to be together or if it was just for Kevin Jr. She agreed to come to Chicago in April 2012. Prior to leaving Puerto Rico, she never advised me that she was going straight to Buffalo New York to live with her mother until she landed in Chicago. She then explained to me she was going to come live with me after a month at her mom’s in Buffalo. While she was in Buffalo I kept in contact with phone calls and video chat. I bought a plane ticket for December of 2012 after she had said she took days off work so she could make it to Chicago.
She ignored phone calls and facebook messages to confirm if she was coming or not. Shortly after this incident she blocked my family and I from facebook and I was left with no phone number either to contacting her. She has consistently ignored any contact with me therefore making it very difficult for me to establish any relationship with my son. It has taken me almost 2 years to pursue my rights as a father since she has made it difficult for me to locate her. I went through child support in Illinois to help me locate her and using other accounts in facebook to view her work info since she had her page blocked from me.
I would like to have joint custody and be a part of all major decisions in his life. I want to be able to have a relationship with my son and for my son to know me as his father.

*Kevin has since gotten the paternity test and is the biological father of Kevin Jr. but legal fees have gotten out of control. Kevin has traveled to New York about 6 times in the last year and a half to for multiple hearings. He recently received a set schedule for visitation and was able to bring his son home for the holidays in December 2015. The mother is taking him back to court to try and end his visitation rights but it's costing him $4000 in legal fees( and then there's his travel expenses since she's in New York). Kevin is currently in grad school but refuses to give up on this battle. Please donate to help him with legal fees and bring father and son together again. Any amount will help him!
