Kevin “Danny” Daniel Barber passed away Saturday, August 6, 2016 in Elkridge, Maryland. He was 33 years of age.
Danny is survived by daughters, Alyssa Barber and Natalie Herchenroeder; parents, Nancy Axtell (Barber) and Kevin Axtell; grandparents, Eunice Barber and Reba Axtell; brothers, John “Jack” Barber and James “Jimmy” Barber; and sister, Tiffany Axtell. Several aunts and uncles, many cousins, and his nieces, Rylee Barber and Bailey Bristow, will also carry on his memory. He is preceded in death by his grandfathers, Donald Barber and Daniel Axtell; aunt, Mary “Donna” Mangum; and uncles, Keith Axtell and Michael “Dean” Axtell.
Danny was born October 23, 1982 in Washington D.C., to parents Nancy A. Barber (Elkridge, MD) and Kevin L. Axtell (Fayetteville, NC). Primarily raised in Maryland, Danny also has country roots in North Carolina. He graduated from Eleanor Roosevelt High School (class of 2001) and his cooking passion led him to continue his education in hospitality and culinary arts at Stratford University. Danny enjoyed fishing on the banks of any lake, while spending time with family and friends. He was a passionate and loyal Washington Redskins fan all his life, following every game no matter the score. With a love of cars and speed, Danny enjoyed watching NASCAR racing and modifying his beloved Monte Carlo alongside his brothers.
With an outgoing personality and carefree spirit, Danny crossed paths with many individuals who will cherish the time spent and forever honor the memories that were created.
A memorial gathering will be held Friday August 19, 2016, from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m.at Borgwardt Funeral Home located in Beltsville, Maryland.
