Kevin's Marathon Continues

Kevin Jerome Hardyway is a healthy 24 year old athlete who on Sunday, May 31st went into cardiac arrest while playing basketball. By the grace of God, he was with two friends who were able to perform CPR until the emergency responders arrived. Kevin was without oxygen for almost ten minutes and in a medically induced coma for days. Doctors were unsure what his condition would be or if he would even wake up but Kevin is a man of god and a fighter. On June 4th Kevin opened his eyes. He has been in the ICU at Tri-City Medical Center and continues to show progress. He is breathing on his own and is responding to questions and commands. He is on the road to recovery but this is only the beginning. With God, family, and friends we as a family have faith he will make a full recovery. Doctors have given us an estimate of one month that he will be in the hospital but he will also need help once he is home. Unfortunately, our health care system and insurance will not cover all of the expenses. All donations will assist with Kevin's medical bills, supplies, and care needs. We are forever grateful and thankful for all the love, support, and prayers we have been receiving for Kevin and our family. It truly is a testament to Kevin and the great person that he is. Please continue to pray for Kevin's full recovery.
