My name is Alayna and I am fundraising for my best friend and coworker Kevin. On Sunday, May 8th, 2022, Kevin (26) had a seizure at work and was rushed to the hospital. Displaying no symptoms of illness up until the seizure, the staff ran a CT scan and an MRI, only to diagnose Kevin with two brain tumors. He had an emergency craniotomy to understand more about the tumors in his head. Doctors were able to remove most of the mass from the larger of the two tumors and send it out to pathology. We are currently waiting for results while Kevin recovers at home. He has 18 staples in his head from the emergency surgery. Although we currently do not know what the tumors are, I am raising funds to help Kevin with his medical bills, as his insurance for work was not yet activated, and other bills. We mostly want to make sure Kevin is covered for his recovery. We do not want him to stress over how he is going to pay for any medications and treatment that he needs, nor do we want him to feel pressured about going back to work to pay for his debt. No person should have to go through this and no one should have to stress about their health and finances.

Anyone who has met Kevin knows that he is the type of person to give the shirt off his back. Quiet and sweet, Kevin is one of the most selfless people I have ever met in my entire life. Although he spent a week and a half in the hospital, Kevin was more concerned about his family and friends than he was about himself. Trying to ease their pain and his, he spent his time cracking jokes and comforting everyone else. It is time that someone returns the favor. He is fortunate enough to be surrounded by family and friends in these trying times, but the burden of finances in an emergency situation like this should not have to be the focal point of his recovery like it is. Kevin has asked me to be the beneficiary. Donations are not, and will not, be used for anything other than Kevin's recovery, medical bills, and cost of living. I will post updates as Kevin undergoes treatment, with his permission of course.
