Kevin "Skimo" Piscoya Scholarship Fund
Donation protected
Our very own Kevin “Skimo” Piscoya passed away suddenly on Sunday October 3, 2021. Through a search effort, his vehicle was located about 35 miles outside of Nome and unfortunately Kevin was deceased. While the family continues to search for answers, at this time all we know is, we have lost a family member, Grandpa, Defender and friend. Skimo was known by everyone in the town of Nome and was especially known by his brothers and sisters in the Air Force and Law Enforcement. The void that we all feel is a gaping hole with many questions unanswered and people asking how can I help?
For those that new Skimo he had a magnetic laugh that would draw you in and a warmth that would make you instantly feel like Family. He had an amazing love for his children and grandchildren that is unmatched. To honor and memorialize Skimo’s legacy, we are asking for Donations that will be used to establish scholarships for his grandchildren. The children's Grandmother, Tracy Meyer will act as the Funds manager to withdraw the donations and place them into Alaska 529 Scholarship funds to help offset the cost of education for the next generation of Piscoya’s. No donation is too small. From a onetime gift to a recurring monthly donation, your support will help keep alive the memory of an amazing Grandfather, Air Force Veteran, A Defender and Public Servant of the Alaska law enforcement.
We will miss you Skimo and the one thing you told me, and I will never forget is: “Don’t be an Oosik”. Rest easy friend, your watch has ended, and you stand relieved. From here forward, your brothers and sisters, defenders and veterans stand in the gap to provide for your family. Rest Easy Defender!
