July 8th my father went into surgery to remove his intestines due to extreme diverticulitis. What was supposed to be an easy surgery turned to be a nightmare. My fathers surgery ended up going south when the surgeon found a large mass. This resulted in a ostomy bag that wasn’t planned, and many more things that I won’t go into detail for the sake of my dad. After extreme pain and the unknown he was released 4 days later. Thinking we’re in the clear, he went home with home health set up as well as my mother who is a registered nurse to take care of him. A week after surgery my mother woke up to my dad in excruciating pain. She called 911 right away and he was transferred to the hospital. After many tests, my dad was dying. He was internally bleeding and needed emergency surgery. Due to the urgency, he wasn’t able to be lifeflighted like recommended. His spleen has ruptured and lost 3 liters of blood in the process. (Human body has 5.)Rushed to surgery, they removed his spleen and unfortunately had to intubate him. He was on life support. Thankfully he has woken up this morning and is in ICU. He is now battling blood pressure issues and recently found out he might be internally bleeding again. My mother and our whole family have put our lives on pause and are in complete shock. This gofundme is solely for my father and mother as they will not be able to work for some time. I’m hoping this cover medical expenses, food, supplies or anything they need.
