Kevin Mitchell's Memorial & Celebration of Life

On March 12 the unthinkable happened, and our family was forever changed. Kevin called his mother to take him to the hospital due to him not feeling well and it progressively getting worse. Little did we know, that would be the last interaction with him. After being admitted to the ER my brother Kevin lost consciousness and went without oxygen for a long enough period of time that his body and mind never recovered. He remained in an unresponsive state until he passed away 15 days later peacefully with his family by his bedside.
The loss of a loved one is never easy to weather. More so when it is sudden and unexpected. Even today as I sit here writing this I keep expecting my phone to notify me of a text message or tik tok video that we both would have laughed at.
Kevin was a father to 2 beautiful children ages 14 and 8, and husband to Sara. He loved to read and would often call me at random hours of the day and night just to tell me that I should read the book he had just finished. He loved spending time with his children, the Kansas City Chiefs, Legos, comic books and pizza. His love of current events kept him full of stories and topics to debate. He was educated, opinionated, compassionate, loving, and enjoyed talking things through. He loved his family dearly and did his best to show this while he was with us.
With this unexpected loss comes the planning of the unexpected. This fund will help us provide a plot, headstone, and celebration of life for Kevin. At only 37 years of age I am sure he felt he had time to plan, but that ended up not being the case. As such, the family is greatly appreciative of any and all that can be donated. I, his sister Leticia, would like to thank you for your support and prayers!
