Kevin Koenig cancer battle

Hello everyone. Im Mike Chitwood, and I’m raising funds for Kevin’s battle with stage 4 cancer. Kevin would describe himself as “The worlds Ok’est dent guy” I’d describe him humble, kind, and would give you the shirt off his back in your time of need. This is his time of need, let’s take the burden off of his family financially so he can fight this battle!!

Matthew 25:35 “For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirst and you gave me a drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me”..this is Kevin, and I am my Brothers keeper.

Kevin’s story

Kevin hasn’t worked since a work related arm injury (bicep tear) in September 2022. In November during his recovery, his shoulder on the same arm became extremely painful, which the doctors believed was just from having an immobile arm for so long. After starting physical therapy his shoulder started to freeze up and become immobile.

Back to September, Kevin had a tumor aggressively grow on his forehead, which the doctors said it was not cancerous, and we can just cut it out with no worries.

So to the real answers. After having the forehead tumor removed in December, it was found that it was cancerous. Stage 4 Renal (kidney) clear cell carcinoma. Renal clear cell carcinoma likes to attack bone which is why the tumor on the forehead came from the skull bone. His shoulder bone is also cancerous, not “frozen shoulder”.

The renal carcinoma also spread from his kidney to his left pelvic bone, right lung, right shoulder, and forehead.

Right now Kevin has started his immunotherapy, will finish his radiation early next week, and will add another chemotherapy starting next week.

Kevin, and his wife Heidi, have been able to go quite some time without a steady income, but it will be better when he’s able to push dents again. We just don’t know how long or when that will be.
