On Aug. 18, our dad who loved life unexpectedly left it.

Kevin had an accident while driving alone in the gorge and needed to have Life Flight rush him to the hospital- unfortunately, there wasn’t enough time to help him. His loss has put our family in a place of needing to make urgent and immediate decisions, about what arrangements to make for him and the logistics of moving mom back into town, but without the resources to do so.

Dad knew everybody, and he in his own way, made sure everybody knew him - and because of his impact and impression on so many people throughout his life, we have been flooded with love and questions about how to offer help from so many. In all honesty, this fund would be the way we need help the most.

Dad had just retired a month ago, but was waiting on the funds to come in to get his health insurance back and cover living expenses - he was in a gap, which means we don’t have anything to work with. The funds raised would help our family pay for the following immediate needs, though there are additional ones we don’t know the exact cost of, such as the medical fees from the hospital and emergency services.

We know that he always made it his goal to take care of his family (and friends he considered his family). Through long days and many years, he took care of us and he took care of mom. We want to do our best to continue with that goal, especially through this tragic situation, and are so grateful to any and all of you who have offered to help us do the same.

- Cremation services and fees (approx $1,245)

- Family gas travel between Portland, Albany, Wishram to settle affairs and moving (approx $345 for two vehicles, multiple trips)

- Moving truck rental and gas to move belongings to a new place (approx $600)

- Mom’s living expenses, until dad’s delayed pay arrives (unknown amount.)

- A memorial service and reception to celebrate his vibrant adventurous life (unknown amount)
