Kevin passed away on September 9, 2023, at the age of 66 from a stroke. He was born and raised in Fort Wayne, Indiana, but spent most of his life in Chicago. Kevin attended Bishop Dwenger High School, where he was active in sports and drama, appearing in several plays and musicals. He possessed the intellect, smile, talent, and confidence that helped him excel in all things he was involved in. Kevin cherished his time at the University of Notre Dame as a cheerleader. At the Cotton Bowl in 1979, he was proud to cheer on the Irish to an amazing one-point victory after having a 22-point deficit in the fourth quarter. Kevin graduated from ND in 1979. He then went on to get his M.B.A. from the University of Chicago in 1981 and worked as a hospital administrator. At night, Kevin attended law school and graduated from Chicago-Kent College of Law with his J.D. in 1987. As an attorney, Kevin practiced in Chicago, specializing in healthcare law. He had retired from Epstein, Becker & Green, P.C., just months before his passing.
Kevin is survived by his loving wife, Linda Ryan; his son Aidan and his wife, Allie; his son Griffin; his daughter Naomi and her husband, Mark; and his stepdaughter, Erica, and her husband, Austin. He was the loving grandfather to new baby Leo Kevin.
Kevin was a loving brother to Kent (Kim), Ryan, Kerry (Brigid), Ryan, Rhonda (Rob), Winkeljohn, Tom (Colleen), Ryan, and Coleen (Jared) Parcell. He was a fond uncle to many nieces and nephews. Kevin was the son of the late Rita and Donald Ryan. He was the loving son-in-law and godson of Margie (the late Ed) Kallenback.
The family is fundraising to have a memorial bench placed in a park along the lakefront on the southside as a place to go and remember him. Donations are appreciated.
