Kevin & Ilse - Final “Thank You” Tip

Hi, I’m a regular guest of Desire Riviera Maya. For the past 6 years we’ve enjoyed visiting DRM and everything this unique resort has to offer. For ourselves, as I’m sure for many others, a major part of the experience is the interaction with the beating heart of Desire itself …. “The Playmakers”. A couple of days ago 2 members of that team left Desire for good, Kevin & Ilse

Kevin arrived at Desire 7 years ago from Columbia, he spoke no English & had no experience of working in a hotel. Through interaction with guests he quickly learnt English and became the playmaker we all love - Desire legend, GOAT. Ilse joined the team in 2023, a local girl from Cancun. Not only did she quickly become a favorite with the guests she also met her soulmate at the resort, and Kevin & Ilse became a couple.

For us personally, Kevin’s impact on us is immeasurable. He’s been an ever present at Desire from our very first yellow band visit, to our most recent. He helped us come out of our shell and interact with both the playmakers and other guests. Each time we returned we loved seeing his infectious cheeky smile as he welcomed us back “home”. Ilse was an instant hit as soon as we met her, as beautiful inside as outside, she always showed such a genuine interest in getting to know the real side of us. Both these amazing people will surely be missed by everyone who visits Desire. But all good things come to an end and we wish this great couple success and happiness in their future lives together.

Now for the point of this page …..

They left desire earlier than they had planned to, abruptly without the chance to say goodbye. I wanted to thank Kevin for his unbelievable 7 year stint and also Ilse too for the incredible hard work they both did for all the guests at Desire. They both worked long hours 6 days a week leaving little time for their own lives. Yet I never saw either of them without a smile on their face and willing to interact. Whether it was a chat in the morning before the games began or during one of the fun pool activities. Maybe having a dance with one of them at the lobby bar at night. I’m sure each and every one of you reading this has memories of Desire that includes them.

So let’s give them both a final send off. One last chance to thank them for the memories, leave them a message and an opportunity to donate to help them set up their future lives together. I’ve set a target of US$12,500 (GBP £10,000) can we, the desire community reach such an incredible target to say thank you to them both ?
