Kevin get to the World Deaf Golf Championship!

I'm Kevin and I'm a 68year old man about to embark on an incredible journey... One that I had never imagined I would be able to be a part of:

In 2024, England Deaf Golf have chosen me to be a part of the seniors team to represent the country in the World Deaf Golf Championships in Australia!

I am so excited and proud to be a part of such an amazing opportunity in a sport that I love to play, not only for me but for all my family and friends too!

Throughout my life I have struggled with my Deafness and felt isolated at many points in my life. Being part of such a supportive community, in England Deaf Golf, has given me more confidence with my Deafness and I have met many fantastic people and I am honoured to be a part of a great team that celebrates our Deafness.

My journey to accepting my Deafness has raised my awareness of the barriers that other Deaf people face and one of these is that Deaf sports don't always get a lot of funding. UK Deaf Golf doesn't get any funding from government bodies or England Sport so it's all down to us to raise the money that we need.

My target doesn't cover all the costs that I will need but it will help to over the necessities - a plane ticket and accommodation, anything more than that will help hugely towards the cost of the trip!

I would be so grateful for anything that you would be able to donate, I know it's a hard time for everyone at the moment so I appreciate anything that can be spared to help me get to Australia and play for my country, again, something I never expected I'd be able to say!!

This truly is a once in a lifetime opportunity for me but now I realise: you're never too old to achieve your dream!
