KEWANEE – Kevin E. Galbraith Sr., 53, of Kewanee, died at 8:12 a.m., Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 26 at Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee with military rites being accorded by the Kewanee Veterans Council. Pastor Mara Ahles-Iverson will officiate. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 25 at the funeral home. Cremation will be accorded following the services. Memorials may be directed to the family for a memorial to be established. The funeral home will maintain compliance with COVID regulations and encourages that all guests wear a mask for the safety of all those attending.
He was born December 5, 1968 in Davenport, IA, the son of Ernest Cupp and Karen (Stamm) Edmunds. He married Corina Quanstrom on August 21, 1993. Survivors include his wife of Kewanee, his father, Ernest (Carol) Cupp of Spirit Lake, IA, his mother, Karen (Steve) Edmunds of Atkins, IA, four sons; Calvin Wright, Kevin Galbraith Jr. and Kruz Galbraith, all of Kewanee and Nathan Galbraith of Griggsville, IL, a daughter, Kyra Galbraith of Kewanee, a brother, Brian (Becky) White of Davenport, IA, a sister, Theresa (Phil) Eastman of Atkins, IA and four grandchildren; Jayce, Scotty, Randy and Corey. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jack and Neoma Stamm, his father-in-law, Frank Quanstrom and a sister, Samantha Nelson.
Kevin graduated from Davenport Central High School and from Black Hawk College. He served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps where he was a baker. He worked as a car salesman for Key Auto Mall in Moline and was a member of the Marine Corps League and the Kewanee Elks Lodge. He was an avid fan of the Cincinnati Reds and the Miami Hurricanes and enjoyed attending his family’s sporting events, but most of all he just enjoyed spending time with family.
All funds will be used for medical and funeral cost, and aiding with living costs after his unexpected passing.
