Don protégé
We have heard it before “life can change in the blink of an eye”
But boy, does it not hit home until it happens to you.
As many of you know my father Kevin Devine suffered a massive stroke this past April. We are extremely fortunate and thankful that he has beaten the odds and has been making great progress at a full recovery! It’s not like zippy to let anything, even a massive stroke take him down for long! As amazing as his progress has been this scare will leave him and his family thousands (if not hundreds of thousands) of dollars in debt. Life saving medical care in America is not cheap, between the ambulance, emergency surgery, a weeks hospital stay, physical therapy and a second surgery it will come with life changing consequences. Anyone who knows Kevin will know that he is a giver, he is extremely generous in everything that he does, he is the the type of person who will always go out of his way to help others so hopefully we can do the same for him and help alleviate some of the financial pressure so he and his family can focus on healing.
I am setting up this go fund me to help my parents makes ends meet and maybe even avoid medical bankruptcy while they sort out their finances and working schedules. Kevin is self employed so he goes without the many benefits, protections and securities that come with traditional jobs. Both he and his wife Julie are unable to work while he recovers and completes his second surgery.
I am hoping that as a community we can help a man and his family that has put so much into helping others his entire life, anything will help, $1 or even just sharing this fundraiser if you’re not able to donate yourself.
