Kevins Pancreatic Cancer Hospice Care

Donation protected
Kevin has been seriously fighting Pancreatic Cancer since July 2023! And we still have a long way to go with treatment. Whereas many have been generously gracious with your donations, we have not reached our target goal, we need to reach out and ask for financial assistance to help us remain here for the next two months.

We decided to stay in Reno, Nevada specifically because of the excellent Cancer Institute and the wonderful assembled team headed up by Dr G, a highly respected Oncology Surgeon.

Obviously when a loved one faces a life or death situation, one simply goes into “Mama Bear” mode and seek the best possible medical treatments with the best possible people. We believe we found the right fit for us in Reno. BUT… the financial burden has been great having to rent a house, the extra 24/7 caregiver expenses not to mention medication co pays have been off the charts! We all know medical bills can bankrupt even with the best possible health coverage. We have reached that point. To date, we have been blessed with a core group of friends flying into Reno to stay with Kevin during this arduous journey. And …Anyone who has spent any time with Kevin knows that he has many communities who adore him. Everywhere he goes, he quickly makes friends and keeps them laughing with his incredible gift for foreign languages and his wonderful sense of humor.

He has many achievements and far reaching impacts that he could boast about, but he remains one of the most humble people you could ever have the luck of crossing paths with. He taught math to thousands of young students in Yuma, Arizona for 30+ years. Not a single one of those students could ever forget his memorable teaching style, quick wit or support when they needed it most.

He has also spent over 20 years contributing to various crucial departments at Burning Man. This is where he acquired the name, The Airport Mayor. He has camped at the Black Rock City Airport with the camp he founded, Flybynyte, every year since. He has also dedicated almost 2 decades to selling ice at Arcitca's Ice Cube igloo and then retiring to be an ambassador and documentarian of the thousands of other volunteers getting ice to the masses in the desert. His birthday celebrations there are legendary and he's very sad to miss stepping foot on the Playa during the event this summer.

As we continue this journey and the next round of treatment, we are grateful for the medical team, the wonderful caring nurses, the ladies who bring the food trays, empty the trash cans and everyone we have encountered and with your support love, caring/healing vibes we’re hoping for a positive outcome BUT AGAIN, it truly does “TAKE A VILLAGE” to go on these dreadful journeys.

We thank you from the bottom of our hearts if you can assist us reach our goal and heal Kevin’s Pancreatic Cancer. Bless you.
