Hi! I’m Jennifer, and I’m fundraising for my brother, Kevin, and his family. Kevin and his family were on their way home from vacation when Kevin got very sick. They took him to a hospital in San Francisco, where he was diagnosed with acute renal failure and an infection from an unknown source. Oh, and he and his wife were both COVID positive. Penny, his wife, has been staying in a hotel near the hospital as she battled COVID, and hasn’t been able to see Kevin. His kids are back home in Ohio. This has caused a lot of unexpected expenses. Penny’s luggage was checked and sent home, so she had nothing. She had to buy new clothes and toiletries and try to navigate a strange city with no transportation. All of this costs money, and neither of them are working at the moment due to the stay here in San Francisco. Kevin is currently not in renal failure, but they suspect an infection in his lungs and are treating with antibiotics. The plan is to be able to fly home soon, but is day by day.
