“Like autumn turns leaves, winter will breathe,
Cold on her necks, snow in our paths.
Wherever she goes, all that I know about us
Is that beautiful things never last,
That's why fireflies flash.” - Ron Pope

On October 15, 2020 our beautiful Keven Delaney Sherwood Easton passed away after a battle for over a year with cervical cancer. at the young age of 28 - a mother, wife, sister, daughter, great friend and over all incredible being.

For the past year, our dearest Keven has bravely battled cervical cancer and recently heaven opened up and brought Keven home. Throughout Keven’s battle, her closest family and friends surrounded her with love, generosity and unconditional affection.

Keven was a warrior, enduring 25 rounds of radiation, 7 rounds of chemotherapy, 3 treatments of brachytherapy and continuous visits to all types of doctors, oncologists and naturopaths. All while experiencing severe and debilitating pain. She fought the hardest battle of her life.

Keven is survived by the love of her life, Jordan “River” Easton, her precious 3 year old daughter Lunabelle Frankie Easton. Her mother Pam Sherwood and dad Geoff Carberry. Her big brother Juniper "Jon" Miller and her three beautiful nieces Tasman, Soma, and Aoroa. Aunt Carolyn and Uncle Dave, and cousins Sean & Hallie Scott and baby Maisie. Aunt Gayle & Doug and cousin Sarah Thorburn. Her newfound family: Parents Melanie and Bill Easton, Siblings Sean & Breanna, Taylor & Sophie and Brett Easton, her nieces and nephew Jude, Ruby and Roxy, and the many close friends Keven loved along the way.

Keven will be remembered for her bright smile, her quirky yet feisty personality, huge heart, infectious energy and eclectic sense of humor. Though small in stature, this beautiful woman was definitely larger than life!

Keven was the life of the party, dancing to the beat of her own drum and bringing people together from all walks of life- making a big imprint on anyone who was blessed enough to have met her. Keven’s free-spirited imagination and creativity was captured through her love for ceramics and art - her pieces brought forth individuality and uniqueness for the world to see.

Keven’s love for music and festivals was both epic and unforgettable - embracing everyone along the way as though they were family. It was with her, you became who you wanted to be. Her first love was to making art and ceramics and spent hours and many of her best moments at ACAD with other amazing artistic souls.
Your love, prayers, texts and abundance of compassion to her family are so greatly appreciated.

To best commemorate Keven, both an education fund for her little daughter Lunabelle as well as an art fund “Keven Delaney Sherwood Easton Art Fund” have both been started. Keven's dream was to finish her education at Alberta University of Arts then teach young people how to hone their artistic capabilities. She wanted to build an art centre where people could come from around the world and learn from different resident artists with great talent in broad swath of fields. River's commitment is to make that dream come true.

Our goal moving forward is to establish a scholarship in Keven's honour so that other young artists can follow their dreams. Keven also had many dreams for Luna, her only daughter, that have yet to be fulfilled.

Thank you to everyone that has supported Keven and our family along the way. Your support means everything to us.
