To celebrate the life of their beloved father, a passionate instructor and lifelong skier, the Kevan Eyre family established the Kevan Eyre Instructor Certification Scholarship at Cherry Peak Resort following his passing on May 6, 2021.

Kevan founded the Cherry Peak Resort Ski School in Richmond, Utah, in 2015 following the resort’s inception and opening by his long-time friend John Chadwick. As a native of Cache Valley, Kevan was thrilled to be part of bringing another ski resort and ski school to his hometown where he could continue to pass on his love of both skiing and instructing to more members of his community.

Skiing was a major part of what made Kevan, Kevan. Thinking about, talking about, and generally nerding out over ski technique was a constant for him and he understood better than almost anyone the importance of becoming a certified instructor. He was fully immersed in utilizing the resources provided by the Professional Ski Instructors of America to create the best skiers and instructors in the Mountain West.

It is the hope of his children and friends that by establishing this scholarship in his honor, more young skiers from the Cache Valley area will be able to follow their passion for teaching snow sports by getting PSIA or AASI certified without worrying about the cost. Kevan was always looking out for young ski and snowboard instructors at the resort and would be proud to know that their professional interests were being looked after in his name.

All funds donated to the scholarship fund will be used to help instructors at the Cherry Peak Resort to pay for their instructor certification fees.
