Kev does Ironman for Charlie’s

I’ve signed up to compete in this year’s Ironman in Wales on Sunday 22nd September. If you aren’t already aware (sorry if I’ve bled your ears on this many times before), this Ironman isn’t Marvel related! I’m undertaking the challenge, in Pembrokeshire, by completing a 2.4 mile sea swim, 112 mile cycle followed by a 26.2 mile marathon run. All in under 17hrs!!
Why, I hear you ask?!?! Well, for 3 reasons
1 - I’m bonkers!
2 - I love the challenge of seeing what my mind and body can achieve!
3 - And this is the main, most important reason. To raise money for Charlie’s Cancer Support Centre, Gloucester
Last year my father in law Neil, was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer. 8 months later he passed away, just 1 week after his 59th Birthday. All Cancers are shit! But this one is all too often very hard to treat because by the time it is diagnosed, it’s in the latter stages and too far advanced.
Charlie’s provided an occasional refuge for my In-Laws throughout those 8 months. The weight and stress lifted of living with shitty cancer whilst they would visit the centre.
Now, if you didn’t sponser me last year when I completed the 113 Triathlon now’s the time to do it.
Please sponsor me and help raise money for such a wonderful charity.
The count down is on. I’ve got just 2 weeks to go!! So get showing your support and donate!!
