This fund aims to raise money to help those who cannot afford to continue seeking fertility treatment or cannot afford to fund alternative ways of having their first longed-for child, such as adoption.
Here in the UK we are blessed with the NHS, offering free IVF, ICSI and other fertility treatments to help us start our longed-for families. However with increasing cuts, some commissioning groups only offer one round, or none at all, despite NICE recommending that up to three rounds of IVF treatment may be required for some people. For those who do get the treatment, IVF doesn’t work the first time for everyone, and this leaves so many people heart broken and hopeless. This fund aims to fill this huge gap and help people who cannot continue to fund treatment, become the parents they so much deserve to be.
Why was it started?
Infertility took over the first half of my 30’s and let me tell you… it sucks! IVF didn’t work for me, and we then had to begin our journey to find thousands of pounds to spend on treatment that we didn’t even know would work.
It was stressful and guilt-ridden. Private fertility treatment, surrogacy, egg and sperm donation and adoption are all expensive; meaning for some of us, our dreams of having a child ends abruptly when the money runs out.
I’m Lynsey and I own Le Keux, a vintage themed salon and party company with premises across the UK, and Diablo + Le Keux, a female empowerment and coaching service. When I went through my infertility journey I was lucky to have financial options, if we hadn’t I don’t know how I’d have coped.
I am now passionate about combining the platform of my business (and our incredible followers) with my own experience to create an ongoing fundraiser. I want to help as many people as possible fund their fertility treatment or adoption journeys. The pain of not being able to fulfil my dreams to become a parent is one of the hardest things I’ve ever battled, and I want to give as many options as possible to others suffering the same. I also want to help people to find fulfilment during their infertility journeys, and I do this by providing motivational videos, podcasts and materials online, through Diablo + Le Keux. Learning techniques to motivate me to carry on with my other passions during my time doing IVF helped me from being swallowed up by the hopelessness and loss this journey can cause. If I can help just one person survive this journey and fulfil their dreams of becoming a parent, that would be amazing, I hope this fund and support will do this for many more.
Join me and donate today. Imagine knowing you gave the gift of a family to someone else… we can be that person… together, right now.
How does it work?
This is not a lottery, nor a fund to be applied for. I cannot imagine choosing one person or couple over another. Therefore, we simply add the names of those who qualify to the bottom of the list. As we fundraise we simply provide funding to the name at the top of the list and so on. My dream is to fund everyone on the list, and I need your help to do that.
If you are suffering from infertility and would like to talk to Lynsey about funding please note the following. Funds are available to those who’ve:
· Exhausted all NHS/free services available to them, and these treatments have not worked, and/or live in an NHS CCG that no longer offers IVF treatment to residents under their care.
· Do not have any other children already
· Have a low income/are unable to secure funding elsewhere/have run out of funds
Funding is transferred directly to your service provider and is available for IVF/ICSI, sperm and/or egg donation, surrogacy, adoption fees and other related services with the aim of treating infertility / having a child.
For full terms and conditions please don’t hesitate to ask.
