Kessler Donations for Jake

Hello,

With the blessing of the Kessler family, we have started this GoFundMe account in order to give anyone an opportunity to contribute to the mounting medical expenses the family is incurring related to Jake's accident.

 

As most of you know by now, Jake suffered a tragic fall at work on Friday, February 11th and was Life Flighted to Memorial Hermann where he has been in the Neuro ICU being treated for a traumatic brain injury. In fighting this injury, Jake's body has also developed other issues such as high fever, high blood pressure and heart rate, and pneumonia along with another infection of some sort. Additionally, his brain began swelling again, which had been decreasing for the last few days, and he has continued to have extremely erratic vital signs. The family was called in to meet with doctors on Wednesday and they were told that Jake had lost his fight. Being the kind of young man Jake was, he chose to be an organ donor. The process for this will take a few days while recipient patients can be notified and given a second chance at life through Jake's thoughtfulness, generosity and selflessness in doing things for others. Family members have been able to say goodbye to him but Shelly, Dan and Katie will remain by his side until the end.

 

While it may be difficult for any of us to receive help, there comes a time when we find ourselves in need and we all know that the Kessler family is always the first to reach out in anyone's time of need with love, a card, a hug, a meal or a donation. The financial strain on them will be great, so any donation that you find in your heart and wallet to make will go directly to the family to use for the expenses they are incurring. They are grateful beyond measure for your help as well as for the prayers, well wishes and messages. This will be a long process for them to manage but with our love and support, we will hold them up. Continue to pray for the entire family-Dan, Shelly, Katie, grandparents--Bob and Marilyn Henricksen, Robert and Gayle Kessler, and aunts, uncle and cousins--Brenda, Rick, Lauren and Peter Thompson, Elaine and Edward Lloyd, Kathy and David Harrison. Their wish is that you tell your people each and every day that you love them and they are grateful to have done that every day of Jake's life.
