In Memory of Our Mother, Kesha

Kesha Monique Lawrence was the survivor of a 16-year battle with cancer until she ascended into heaven on Tuesday, May 2nd, 2017. She is survived by her four children: Robert, Raheem, Jamesha, and Janique (aged 29, 26, 19, &17 respectively).

After having been diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer in 2001, Kesha underwent a mastectomy, chemotherapy treatments, and multiple bouts of radiation therapy. After a second mastectomy in 2014, Kesha discovered that the cancer metastasized to her stomach, her bones, her lungs, and her brain.

Her recent hospitalization - which had begun on Easter Sunday - was a true testament to her essence. Kesha was a woman warrior, a heroine, an anchor for her family, endlessly compassionate, fiercely independent, and unequivocally brave. Anyone that loves Kesha knows that she enjoyed cooking, dancing, music, spending time with our family, and watching daytime television.

Needless to say, funeral expenses for families are exponentially high, especially in the Bay Area... We need your support to give my mother-in-law a service and a burial that she deserves.

We are asking for monetary donations for a casket, a ceremony with floral arrangements, a burial, a reception/repass, and funds to support the girls (one of which is a junior at Skyline High School and the other a college student at the Peralta Community College District). Kesha was a loving mother, a daughter, a cousin, a niece, a sister, and a friend. To lose her at age 46 is unfathomable and heartbreaking. We hope that your donations can bring a sense of solace to her children and anyone that loves her.
