Kerry’s Breast Cancer Treatment & Surgery

My sister, Kerry, was diagnosed last week with modular and ductal breast cancer in both breast. She has also been diagnosed with skin cancer of the breast.  She is only 52 years old. 

Kerry is a mother to 2 children, ages 16 and 12, a wife to Keith and a beloved daughter and sister. She has lived  a kind and generous life and now it is time to help her. 

She is one of the unlucky few who falls in the category of too much income to get a subsidy for medical through the Marketplace and making too little to pay the $2,000/ month needed to insure her family. Therefore,  the cost for treatment falls 100% on her family’s shoulders.  She has talked to  a surgeon and chemo physician already and they both say she needs to start treatment immediately. 

The estimated cost of treatment is $200,000. We know that is a lofty dream but this is her life. 

While we are looking at all avenues to help, I know that she will never be able to afford the care she needs. Therefore, I am asking that, if you can, you help me help her make this extremely scary and stressful diagnosis a little easier for this loving woman and her family. 

Kerry needs at least 5 months of chemotherapy and then a double mastectomy and a potential reconstruction if we can make it happen. She doesn’t really care about the reconstruction... she wants to be here to raise the boys God blessed her with.
