Growing up we're always told that "bad things don't happen to good people". As we get older, unfortunately, we realize this isn't always the case and we see that tragedy can strike even the most kind-hearted and loving people. When these situations arise, it is the responsibility of those who care and love those people to rally around them and support them in any way they can.

When Kerry Schneider was diagnosed with Stage 4 Renal Cell Carcinoma it came as a complete shock to Naomi, his wife, and the rest of his family. Being a very private and proud couple, they made the decision to share their fight with a few close friends and to attack the cancer on their own.

Their desire to keep the battle private and their refusal to ask for help was incredibly admirable, but as time passed they realized that the cost of this battle was going to be significant and potentially crippling financially. Despite their best attempts to keep their battle private, their friends were able to convince them to reach out for help from those who love them most.
