As some of you are aware, Kerry Jackson's apartment building had a fire and has lost many items. Hoping some things are able to be salvaged but between smoke and water damage you never know for sure. As a person who has experienced a house fire and losing everything you own it is a very long, tedious and very unpleasant experience mentally, physically and emotionally. I am hoping we can all pitch in, no matter how small or big, to help a fellow co-worker and friend to help her replace some items as insurance companies never cover everything and usually not in a timely manner. Thank you in advance!
Kerry's latest update:
It has been almost 2 weeks since the devastating fire in my Bronxville apartment building and I want to thank all of you for your love and support during this emotional and difficult time.
As of now, I have only been allowed into my apartment once and very briefly to just get some essentials. The water damage to my once beautiful home was extensive and heartbreaking to witness. I do believe that many of my belongings and furniture are salvageable but it will still be a few days if not weeks before I will be able to enter again, and my fear is that the water damage will be even more ruinous by then. I am lucky that I have some things to take away, as the residents of the 6th floor and many on the fifth lost everything.
