Kerry Claeys

Hello! This is Kerry Claeys with her two childen. Zachary is 18 years old, currently attending College in North Dakota. Paige is 13. Paige has a rare genetic condition called Pura Syndrome. Kerry is an amazing mother to both of her babies. Actually, being a early childhood development/preschool teacher in Sioux City for the past 25 years, she quite possibly could have impacted the lives of your very own children.  Aside from being a mother and teacher, Kerry is a doting daughter who is struggling with the very recent passing of her father, Tom.  As mentioned above, Kerry works full-time as a preschool teacher for the SCCSD. She is also the primary caregiver for her special needs daughter. As if that isn't enough...Kerry has also been working part-time at a local bowling alley to support her son's education.
While working her normal Sunday afternoon shift at the bowling alley, a bowling ball fell on Kerry, hitting her on the head. Kerry is suffering with a severe concussion and brusining to the brain and facial tissue. Kerry will have to see her doctor again in a few days, once the swelling goes down, to have a closer look.  The doctor she seen today, stated it may take a few weeks before she is able to return to normal activity.
The thing is, Kerry would never ask for help! She is always the first one to step in if anyone around her needs help. As many of us know, missing a week's pay, let alone two or three week's worth of income, would be catastrophic for most of our families. I am hoping that we can put together enough money for Kerry to  be able to take the financial responsibility off her plate while she heals.
