My wife, Kerri, contracted H1N1 influenza virus at some point after arriving in China on 13th April 2017. She deteriorated quickly and after suffering from Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome was admitted to hospital Friday week ago and subsequently was placed in an induced coma and put on life support at 2am on Sunday, 23rd April. Kerri remains in the ICU on life support at a hospital here in Nanjing.
Kerri is currently doing really well and is receiving the best care possible. Our travel insurance is covering Kerri's medical costs and costs associated with my extended stay at the hotel, as we do not know when she will be stable enough to fly home to Melbourne.
Unfortunately, we have a lot of costs that aren't covered by by our travel insurance: loss of wages, costs incurred flying Kerri's son to China, costs associated with Kerri's other daughter to remain in China, support with rehab once she returns home etc.
Obviously, as you can appreciate, this has been a very traumatic time for me and my family, and any help you can offer will be greatly appreciated by all of us.
