My loving brother Kerrigan died unexpectedly on May 25, 2021—a mere forty-seven days after he celebrated his 51st birthday.

That fateful morning, Kerrigan was training alongside his daughters Anna (14, rising freshman) and Kylee (15, rising sophomore), and their St. Ursula cross country team at Wildwood Preserve MetroPark. He and the girls were out for the team’s first day of summer practice when he collapsed on the trail after suffering a fatal heart attack.

In addition to his young girls, Kerrigan leaves behind his beloved and heartbroken wife Melanie (Perz) Quicker, to whom he married on April 26, 2003, and adored more than anything.

There have been many wonderful things written about my brother already, and honestly, I’m currently too raw to even try to memorialize appropriately and adequately what he meant to me and how his passing will forever devastate me. But what I can do now is to help my grieving sister-in-law financially by supporting my nieces’ college education costs.

We have created the Kerrigan Quicker Memorial College Fund Trust. Any financial help will be sincerely appreciated. All funds raised will be used exclusively to pay for the girls’ college tuition and expenses, and all funds donated will be managed by a wealth and trust advisor who is also a long-time friend of Kerrigan’s.

We further welcome your prayers. Prayers for Melanie, Kylee, and Anna, and our entire brokenhearted family. Prayers for the entire cross country team who have been traumatized by this painful experience. And prayers for his many friends and colleagues with whom he shared so much joy.
