Unfortunately Kerrie has lost her battle with cancer and we would now like to help her 3 children to make it easier on them. This is such a devastating time for everyone that knew Kerrie. Kerrie has been a dear friend of mine for 14 years. I met Kerrie when I lived in Batemans Bay and even though I have since moved we have stayed close friends. She has battled being a single mum for the time I have known her and the battle was real. With myself and other friends of Kerrie's helping with food to feed her children and helping in any other way we could.
Finally for Kerrie things were looking up with her getting a full time job and building a beautiful home of her own on the South Coast of NSW. The financial struggle was gone and the peace and content had set in. It was a great relief for Kerrie and her children and something that was well deserved.
Unfortunately in February of this year Kerrie was given some devastating news. A 6cm tumour was discovered in her liver. The Tumor is too big to be operated on and so the only option was chemotherapy. As Batemans Bay is a small town Kerrie has to travel to Canberra for her treatment and appointments. Kerrie has no family other than her children that can support her. Her 2 eldest children live in Sydney and her teenager son currently studying year 12 lives with her. Kerrie had her first round of chemotherapy a month ago and with having only her children and friends by her side has had to rely on them to help her too and from appointments. Kerrie is unable to work due to the chemotherapy making so sick and due to this the money is now tight and Kerrie is now at risk of loosing her beautiful home she has built and will soon not be able to afford to get to and from Canberra for her treatment and appointments.
Kerrie was always that friend that would drop everything for anyone close to her just to be able to help. I want to give back to my dear friend and help her and children by taking some of the financial strain off them so they can concentrate on Kerrie's health without the worry of loosing their family home.
I ask that you please help out with Kerrie's cancer battle. Every little bit helps. Let's pull together and help out a deserving family.
