Kerowyn's Adventure to Peru!

Hi, my name is Micah and I'm fundraising for my daughter Kerowyn.

Kerowyn has always loved music. When she was little, I asked why she was always singing, and she told me, "I have music inside me, and I just have to let it out." We enrolled her in a musical program for children through Storybook Theatre when she was 7 years old and she excelled. She continues to perform in Storybook Theatre for their fundraising events. This year, Kerowyn joined Youth Singers Calgary. YSC provides an environment for youth to learn more about music composition, teamwork, camaraderie, and performance. I asked how Kerowyn was enjoying YSC and she said her only regret is that she didn't know about the program earlier.

Academically, Kerowyn is proving herself. She voluntarily took an 11th-grade math class in summer school last year to be able to take a 12th-grade math class. She's only halfway through her 11th grade and she's taking 12th grade math online in addition to her full course load. She tells me her dream is to work in the theatre and perhaps on film but as a "back up" she will be an Engineer. She has her sights set on specific programs for post-secondary and I'm doing what I can to support her through that.

This fundraiser, however, is for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity through Youth Singers Calgary. Kerowyn's choir, "Senior High", will be going on a performance tour to Lima, Peru in the summer of 2026. This trip, while a "working" trip, will also include the educational and tourist side trips that are offered in Lima. There's even an optional add-on for a climb up Machu Picchu.

Kerowyn has been working hard on fundraising, doing extra babysitting, collecting bottles, and participating in YSC-directed fundraising (such as selling chocolates). That being said, it would be of great benefit to supplement that fundraising. If you can contribute a few dollars it would go a long way toward helping, with our immense gratitude.
