Kermit the Dog's Vet Bills
Donation protected
Kermit the Dog is my five-year-old miniature dachshund and one of my best friends. He's brought an enormous amount of joy to mine and Kate's lives and no dog is sweeter or better tempered.
A week ago I noticed him stumbling and acting a little wobbly so I immediately took him to the vet. They took X-rays and thought a few of his vertabrae might be a little too close together so they sent us home with some muscle relaxers and instructions to watch and see if his condition worsened.
One week later and we've spent four nights and $1800 at the vet trying to figure out why Kermit can't walk straight or even sit still without swaying. We know the next step is an MRI at State's Vet School. We need to act fast so that we have the best chance of identifying what exactly is causing all of this and treat it quickly. Should surgery on his spine be required, we'd be looking at an additional $5000. It's all very daunting from a financial perspective but I simply cannot let my best friend be in pain and not do for him what I can to give him back his health and way of life.
I've got an enormous soft spot for dachshunds and have pledged to other dachsund vet bill campaigns in the past and thought I'd give this a shot. Anything you could pledge would mean more to me (and to Kermit, whether he recognizes it or not) than most could understand. At the very least, I appreciate you taking the time to read this.
