Keri's top surgery

My name is Keri Blue and I identify as trans non-binary my pronouns are they/them. I can still remember the first time I felt dysphoric about my chest, I was about 8 years old and playing football with a load of my cousins mostly boys, I scored a goal and I like all the others took my shirt off big mistake I will never forgot the shouts and looks and being told to put it back on “girls don’t do that” to this day I have always struggled with my chest. I recently came out as trans non-binary and I remember the first time I felt euphoric, when I started to cut my hair short and use, they/them pronouns. I feel so complete in so many ways, but I do still struggle, I feel uncomfortable in certain clothes and when picutres are taken, I miss swimming so much. I truly believe that having this top surgery will eventually after 40 years give me the strength and confidence to face the world, feel completely myself and have no shame in always hiding under baggy tees.

I'm fundraising for gender-affirming surgery, healthcare costs that aren't covered by the NHS. The cost of this surgery is far higher than I had anticipated.

Despite saving for over 2 years now, I'm still a long way off funding this treatment, and going another 5-6 years of my life like this is becoming an unbearable and uncomfortable thought. I'm so excited to wear the clothes I feel like me in and look into that mirror and see back what I see in my head more than anything.

The overall cost of the procedure is £8000. I am working and saving as much as I can, and I really don’t expect anything big at all I also hate asking especially at this time with the cost-of-living crisis but any donation is appreciated.

Asking others for help let alone funding feels incredibly uncomfortable, but I'm starting to realise reaching out for help is the only way a lot of us will manage to get the treatments we need.
