**UPDATE: Keri came through surgery nicely…just real sore. She had to spend two nights in the hospital but will be going home tomorrow! They feel the cancer was contained and they got it all…thank you all for your generosity and prayers! I know Keri is grateful and touched by the outpouring of support. She will be able to take the full six weeks off and not have to worry about how she will pay her bills thanks to your kindness. God bless you all! ♥️
I’m Kim Argo and I’m raising funds for my niece, Keri Prather. It’s difficult asking for help but so is facing cancer and surgery. Instead of being able to focus on her health and recovery from surgery, Keri is having to face the financial uncertainty that comes with having to be out of work for six weeks with no income, following her hysterectomy on Monday, April 24. Keri is a mother of three with one child still at home and in school. She has no income beyond what she makes it work. Unfortunately, she has no disability and no other medical benefits through her job.
As most of you probably know by now, Keri was diagnosed with cervical cancer approximately six weeks ago. They won’t know the extent of the cancer until they do the hysterectomy and test nearby lymph nodes. The surgeon has insisted on Keri staying out of work for a minimum of six weeks so that she can fully recover before returning to her physically demanding job. Keri is very proud, and has very rarely asked for any kind of assistance from others. Many times, she has been the one helping those in need. Now she needs us. None of us like being in a position of having to ask for help, but there are times when we just have to acknowledge we need it. Keri has given me permission to start this campaign, and hopefully raise the funds she needs to recuperate without the fear of losing her rental and to keep food on the table. Just give what you can and if you can’t afford to give, please send up a prayer and positive thoughts! Thank you all!! Much love from Keri and all of her family.
