Dear friends, family, and compassionate community,
In the wake of Keri Garcia Sanchez's unexpected departure on Sunday, January 7th, 2024, the outpouring of prayers, love, and kind words has been a source of solace for the Sanchez family. Keri's ascension to heaven, leaving behind the love of her life and husband, Jose Sanchez, and their beautiful children or as she affectionately referred to them, “birdies" – Emma, Caleb, and Adam – has left an irreplaceable void in our lives.
In lieu of flowers and meals, we humbly ask for your support to alleviate the financial burdens that accompany unforeseen medical bills and funeral costs. Most importantly, we seek to establish a college fund for Keri's "birdies" as they navigate the challenging path of grief and transition towards a new normal. Your contributions will provide tangible assistance during this difficult time.
Keri's life was a testament to compassion, resilience, and unwavering dedication as a mother, wife, and occupational therapist. Her educational journey from St. Frances Elementary and St. Lucy's High School to earning her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and Masters of Occupational Therapy from the University of Southern California (USC) reflects her commitment to making a difference.
Throughout her career Keri remained dedicated in improving the lives of her clients at Rancho Los Amigos, Casa Colina, Rehab Without Walls, and NeuroRestorative. Her expertise in assisting individuals with neurological disorders made a profound impact, promoting independence and enhancing their quality of life. Even in her own challenges during her 7 plus year battle with cancer, Keri celebrated the smallest victories with enthusiasm, leaving an indelible mark on the patients and colleagues she worked with. Her memory will endure as a loving mother, wife, sister, daughter, aunt, friend, occupational therapist, professor, devoted Catholic, and community member.
As we mourn her loss, let us celebrate Keri's life by continuing her legacy of love and support. Join us in prayers for her loved ones and contribute to this fund, helping establish a college fund for Keri's "birdies" and covering unexpected costs from her final days. Your generosity will help honor Keri's dream of seeing her children receive a college education, thus furthering her legacy.
Keri was a fighter, a warrior, and above all, a loving mother to her three "birdies." Keri's warmth, kindness, laughter, and infectious smile will always be remembered, and by supporting Jose, Emma, Caleb, and Adam, we can carry forward her light during this unbearably difficult time.
With gratitude and love.
