Keresley RFC, surviving Covid

Everyone knows how important a Rugby club can be for a community
Keresley RFC was founded in 1953, since its start it has had many people through it doors and faced many challenges as a club and as a family in and out of rugby.
It has faced many hardships but has always shone through to go stronger...
Currently....
As we approach 70th anniversary we are proud to have a great structure to build upon. The club has developed the rugby section to play two senior teams last season, a full mini and junior section. It also supports other sports which makes it even more inclusive than ever. These sports are Netball, Football, Bowls and Lacrosse

The impact of Covid
We have all been impacted over the last few months - the rugby team were in a strong position after putting out two teams for the first time in 9 years. The mini and juniors have continued to grow in numbers and the other sports also continue to benefit utilising the superb facilities we have. Lots of things have happened at the club during lockdown despite being closed. Urgent work has been carried out and funding for these projects has primarily come from new sponsorship. We've missed being able to socialise together in our great clubhouse as well as supporting the local community further with our large scale social event . We are a family and we will be back together when it is safe to do so and look to rebuild. If you do have any concerns the door is always open and you can contact us at [email redacted]
Why do we need your support?
As you can imagine the Covid pandemic has put pressure on our facilities - which is something we plan for each year so we can make it work. Unfortunately this year we have lost out on a big percentage of our usual income and as such we would ask out members and the wider community to help us continue to keep the high standards we have reached.
Where is your money going?
The club now needs to focus on the following areas. Clubhouse maintenance, Grounds maintenance and community support. Our clubhouse project is to improve the changing room areas, dropping the ceilings, redecoration and making them suit the rest of the clubhouse. Our grounds maintenance focuses around pitch and drainage improvements so that we can utilise out pitches throughout the year and not lose then for up to four months.
Finally we are so focused on supporting our community, especially the younger people. Offering them a great value way to keep fit, socialise and most importantly have fun. This is key to getting back to normality and rebuilding physical and mental health safety.
Who is it for?
As above we will use the money on the three key areas we have identified. We will then make our facility more welcoming to all players, members, spectators and community members who some to the John E Radford fields
How do you know we did what we said we would?
These developments will be shared on social media as they progress and we look forward to welcoming you all back to the club as soon as possible
