Hi! My name is Sam and I'm trying to help my close friend with financing for a surgery to save her eyesight. My friend Allison Butt affectionately called Allie or Rose was recently diagnosed with a rare eye condition called Keratoconus which is a condition where the persons cornea starts to become cone shaped instead of smooth and rounded like everyone else's. Unfortunately, the damage this condition does cannot be reversed but there is a procedure called CXL or cross linking that can help strengthen and stop the progression of this disorder.
Unfortunately, in Newfoundland, Canada this is not covered under our provincial insurance and with the current economic state the cost of this procedure is just not feasible for her.
I am hoping for some support and help to cover the cost of her two eyes to be done and treated so that her remaining vision can be spared and that she can continue with her passion for art.
The surgery cost is $2,200 for a single eye and provides smoothing of the cornea and a strengthening drop hardened by UV light to help the cornea.
Please, it would mean the world to us if anyone would be able to support Allie in her journey to preserve her vision.
Find below a link with information about Keratoconus.
Thank you!
