Ker Street Roof

Hello, we are now sadly fundraising for a new roof for the Odd Fellows Hall. Unfortunately the insurance doesn't cover 'wear and tear' and after exhausting all other possible avenues for funding we are left with no option but to ask for your help.

The roof has undergone many temporary repairs but has now drastically failed and is no longer holding back the rain, causing damage not only to the interior of the building but also the electrics causing us to CLOSE for the foreseeable.

The electrician has made the building safe, and will be reopening downstairs from Wednesday 7th July.

We understand the target set is not possible to achieve so we are reaching out for as much as we can raise to pay towards the repairs!

This Grade 1 at risk graded building is almost 200 years old and was built by John Foulston in 1823. Designed in the 'Egyptian Style' following the the popularisation of Egyptian Architecture after the Napoleonic campaigns. One of only 2 such examples in the country. It is a major attraction in Devonport, Plymouth and is well known throughout the country.

The building was built for Masonic use and during the war it turned itself to being a morgue! It has been a library, a social club and now the community hub.

Please help us save this family business and community building!! All the money raised will be put towards repairing the roof and the whole electric system. Dig deep in your pockets everyone.

Thank you

xx
