Hello, it is with heavy hearts to announce that our beautiful mother passed away on Christmas day. In the past couple of months, she wanted nothing more than to be healthy and be our mom again, but sadly succumbed to her illnesses.

Since August, she went from being completely independent to being in and out of the hospital with multiple health issues, requiring 1-2 people assist at all times. Uncontrolled diabetes, multiple episodes of pneumonia, urinary tract infections, acute kidney injuries, irregular blood counts and chemistry levels, severe skin issues, fatty liver complications involving multiple areas of swelling, sepsis, and more, were all a part of her difficult journey. Unfortunately seven different specialty doctors, ongoing blood tests, and several CT and MRI scans were not enough to give anyone a definite answer as to why our mother was so sick. A bone marrow biopsy was encouraged to rule out other potential causes, such as autoimmune diseases and leukemia. However, our mother faithfully did not want any invasive procedures done and respectfully declined.

As her symptoms and weakness took over her daily life, she became more and more anxious and depressed. Our father stood by her the entire way, and us siblings took turns to always have someone be with her at all times so she didn’t have to feel alone. The hospital stays became more frequent and each time worse. Finally, mom came home on Hospice December 20th and took her last breath surrounded by her loved ones on the 25th.

To my beautiful mom who always selflessly went above and beyond for her children, we love you so much. You are now in a better place with no more pain and suffering. Never would we have ever imagained living the majority of our adult lives without you.

We the family are now accepting any donations at this trying time, as we gather our strength to honor our beloved mother with a proper traditional Hmong funeral. Any help and prayer is deeply appreciated.
