Keoshia Ford was at a BBQ in March 2012 when gun fire erupted, with multiple people, suspected gang members, firing into the crowd. One of the bullets struck Keoshia in the head. She survived but was paralyzed, relied on a breathing tube and required nursing care 24 hours a day. Nearly five years after the shooting Keoshia succumbed to her injuries on December 27, 2016.
