Hi, my name is Kenzo. I’m only 2 years old, and there’s a chance I might be facing euthanasia because my family doesn’t have enough money to save me.
Time was running out. They returned me to the shelter, hoping I’d find a second chance. But I was so anxious and overwhelmed there that I couldn’t control my emotions. The shelter believed euthanasia was the best solution for me.
When my foster family found out, my owner did everything she could to stop it. In the end, she took me back, choosing to fight for my life.
A few months later, the city decided to evaluate me because of an incident that happened last year. Even though I’ve changed and tried my best, they didn’t want to take a chance. After the evaluation, they were debating between putting me down or letting me live under strict conditions. Conditions that come with a price so high it’s hard to even imagine. The city said it would cost at least $20,000 to meet all the requirements for me to stay alive.
My owner is only 20 years old. She’s doing everything she can, but she doesn’t have that kind of money. Now she’s stuck between two heartbreaking decisions: to let me go or to keep fighting for me without knowing how.
All I want is to stay with the family I love and who never gave up on me. I just want to live.
