the Thundercanes Youth Football Academy of Kenya!

In 2016 while on a trip of a lifetime in Kenya, I became friends with our safari driver, Sam Silali Mayamba. He and I bonded over our love of football. Back in Sam's village in Ngong, his two young boys have been playing in a football academy full of kids that needed support and I vowed to help. With the aid of my teammates from the Singapore Football Club, we have been sending equipment (uniforms, balls, shinguards, training cones, etc) for two different age groups in the academy. The boys have gone on to win tournaments, wearing their Thundercanes badge with pride! It's been wonderful to watch this aspiring group of young footballers grow and dream big! Our immediate goal is to send new equipment, first aid supplies and funds for transporting the boys to tournaments across East Africa. In the future, my hope is to expand this program to include all of the age groups in the academy as well as helping with school fees, scholarships, football coaching clinics and international tournaments.
