Kenyan interpreters to CASLI 2020
Donation protected
Kenyan Sign Language interpreter do not have the resources to develop their skills to deliver services to the Deaf community that we do.
After meeting a group of 4 interpreters at the World Association of Sign Language Interpreters (WASLI) conference in Paris, and again on my visit to Kenya this January, I made it my goal to bring them to Canada for 1 week all expenses paid.
They are progressing with accessibility, education, resource development, in their country but a trip for the Canadian Association of Sign Language Interpreters Conference in July 2020. Your donation would help them be able to plan better workshops and better resource creation for their country, Kenya.
it is my belief that as Canadians it is our responsibility to provide the best we have to the rest of the world, and your donation of any amount will help them bring excellent accessibility to their country from their learnings in our country, Canada.
Your help will be greatly appreciated by the interpreters across Canada, the Kenyan attendees, and the Kenyan Deaf community.
Their expenses will include:
Flights - @ $1700 x 4 = $6,800
Hotel Accommodations @ $1,200 x 2 = 2400
CASLI 2020 Conference registration - @ $405 x 4 = $1620
Food (4 people for 1 week) = $1,180
Total= $12,000
