Hello to our dear family and friends!
We have the amazing opportunity to travel to Kenya in June and use our love of soccer to do ministry! We will be partnering with New Beginnings Ministry Center and need your help to get there! Keep reading for an overview of what we will be doing during our time in Webuye, Kenya.
Over the past 10 years the New Beginnings Ministry Center in Kenya has been using soccer to share the gospel in various forms & fashions, but from June 13-24th of 2019 we are taking it to a whole new level!
Because soccer provides a unique opportunity to bring together villages, cities, and people of all ages and backgrounds we are going to use it to share the gospel, teach the word, and connect people to the local church. To do this we will be hosting a 20 team soccer tournament! This event will bring together hundreds (probably thousands) of families, students, and community members to watch and play soccer. More importantly it will bring them under the sound of the gospel. During this 3 day event, soccer will be played during the day but the exciting stuff happens each evening as we gather everyone together in large setting to share the gospel and provide bible teaching and training.
While the soccer tournament will be big, our outreach each evening will be our greatest focus — providing music, teaching, and times of prayer geared towards young adults, students, and athletes — all while plugging them into our local network of churches for continued discipleship.
Other things going on during the week will be: visiting local churches, serving widows at the Ministry Center, praying with people in their homes, visiting local congregations and encouraging them, and working with various groups of children.
Please prayerfully consider giving to help support us: God can use even $5! But we also ask that you lift us up in your prayers for safety and that the gospel is spread during our time!
